Membership Information

The Western Aerosol Information Bureau (WAIB) is a regional association of companies supporting the production, marketing and use of aerosol products.  The membership consists of approximately 54 companies ranging in size from small to large and in scope from national to international. We have a volunteer 12-member board of directors reflecting expertise in all segments of industry: marketers, manufacturers and distributors.

One of our primary aims is to provide information about aerosols to the public so they can make objective decisions about aerosol products. In addition, WAIB reflects industry’s desire to find solutions to our current environmental issues.  WAIB members frequently attend and speak at conferences organized by the California Air Resources Board, Air Quality Management Districts and federal and state Environmental Protection Agencies.

Remember, it is your membership that allows us to keep you up to date, by presenting two meetings each year to keep our membership informed about California legislative and regulatory activity and pertinent industry developments as it pertains to your industry. As you know, the regulations begin in California and are soon accepted Nation Wide. This gives your R&D valuable time to prepare for changes that are soon to approach in regards to developing the technology needed to deal with the ever-changing regulations of the aerosol industry.  

Some of the areas in which WAIB Directors and members are active are:               

• Continual involvement in workshops and hearings on the consumer products regulatory and implementation activities at the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
  
  
• Contact with State and Federal legislators on matters that affect this industry.
  
  
• Monitoring and participating in regulatory activities at the local Air Resource Board.
  
  
• Educating consumers about aerosols and promoting the “no CFC’s” message.  Informing the public about the recycling of aerosol cans.
  
  
• We are involved with CAPCO, whose mission is to end the false belief that aerosols contain CFC’s that harm the ozone layer, by educating our children.  Through CAPCO’s accredited science kits for teachers and inhalation abuse pamphlets we are both educating future consumers, and inspiring a new generation of scientists.
  
  
• We work in concert with other aerosol organizations to combat erroneous information presented by the media regarding aerosols.
  
  
• We provide Action Alert emails providing our membership with information pertinent to the aerosol industry. These email notices include ARB updates and watches, California Legislative Information, and updates of information from around the U.S.
  
  
• We offer “Innovation to Reality” our Aerosols 101 training for new employees of aerosol companies, or to new aerosol companies. We have instructional material that is available to our members, including DVD’s and CD’s full of information from the experts. 

Please complete the membership application form and mail or fax this back to us along with your, tax deductible, payment of $600 today. Keep in mind that your $600 membership covers your entire company and all your employees as members of the WAIB all of whom will enjoy access to our services. We also appreciate those of you who are willing to help us keep you, and the world, informed by sponsoring our website. Sponsoring the WAIB website is an additional $150.  When you become a web sponsor we link the WAIB’s website to your company’s own web page. Thus, informing the world that you proudly support the WAIB.
